My plan for improved bus services in the Area

If we are to get people to use public transport in Galway, we need buses running every 10 minutes, and it must be reliable.

I would love to be a more frequent bus user, but I have waited too many times for buses that were late or didn’t show up at all. I have listened to similar stories from many people.

Reliable means that the bus runs every time it is supposed to. It should not be dependent on whether the driver turns up for work or not, or some mechanical problem. These eventualities must be managed and provided for.

Many people will leave their cars at home if they can get to work on time, be at a meeting on time, and get their children to school on time if the bus service is frequent and reliable.

Bus Connects promises much, but it will all hinge on delivery.

Making this happen is one of my priorities.
